Paul Anderson off Castlevania Adaptation: Would Milla Jovavich have been Sonia Belmont?

I'm reading this morning that Paul Anderson (Resident Evil, Event Horizon) is no longer attached to direct the video game to movie adaptation of Castlevania.This is great news to me - as much as I would have loved to see how he would have written in Milla Jovavich, I just can't bare to watch as one of the best games ever was hacked to death on screen in some odd-ball b-movie Dracula rip-off....
